Sensor Faults

We service and repair all makes and models including Japanese, European and US imports.

Vehicle sensors detect physical and chemical changes in a car, transferring the information to the computers. But the sensors can sometimes fault and relay the wrong information- or none at all! It is important to look out for faults and contact Cronulla Sutherland Automatics immediately if issues persist.

What is the sensor?

Sensors provide the inputs the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) requires to make essential control decisions. They can be referred to as the nerve endings of the vehicle. Without receiving correct input data, the computer may not make the correct command decisions.

How do I know if my sensor is faulty?

There is a range of signs that will inform you if your sensor is faulty. These could include a glowing check engine light, an emissions test failure, a rough sounding engine, bad gas mileage or if your vehicle is an older make.
